The Bree Wingate Foundation is proud that all its board members are New Haven natives with deep ties to the community. They understand that meaningful change begins at home and are committed to creating tangible improvements in New Haven. With firsthand understanding of the challenges young people face, they work to provide mentorship, resources, and opportunities that foster growth, resilience, and success.

LaRae Gilliard

LaRae Gilliard, a New Haven native, supports local high school students in navigating post-secondary pathways. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies from Virginia Union University and brings extensive nonprofit experience in education and faith-based organizations. Her background fuels her commitment to the foundation’s mission. As a board member, she also mentors youth, emphasizing emotional intelligence and supporting those pursuing higher education.. 

Kese Thomas

Kese Thomas is a Columbia University student and Secretary of The Bree Wingate Foundation. With a deep interest in economic and epistemic justice, he explores how financial systems shape access to knowledge and opportunity. He brings a background in digital design and a passion for the arts, blending creativity with academic inquiry to reimagine possibilities for marginalized communities.

Bryanna Wingate

Bryanna Wingate is the Founder and CEO of The Bree Wingate Foundation, a life coach, youth advocate, entrepreneur, and Co-chair of Ward 29. She is dedicated to mentoring young people and creating pathways to success through education, mental well-being, and community engagement. With a strong commitment to service and empowerment, Bryanna leads the foundation in providing resources that foster long-term impact and transformation.

James Williams

James Williams, owner of Gifted Touch LLC, is a master barber, mentor, and community leader known for his precision, style, and respectful approach that helps clients feel confident. Beyond the chair, he invests in local youth through workshops, apprenticeships, and guidance in job readiness, goal-setting, and personal development. He also gives back through free or reduced-cost services and partnerships with local organizations. Committed to accessibility, James creates an inclusive space for clients with disabilities and special needs. Through Gifted Touch, he continues to uplift individuals and strengthen the community.
